SELF-GOVERNMENT WORKS:  CLASSROOM SIMULATION

“John Locke is awesome!” exclaimed an actual simulation student. Self-Government Works allows students to learn the historical evolution of self-government as they create their own in-class government system. This program was co-developed by Bill Norton, Mark Herr with the Center for Self Governance, and Cara Palmer. The design and layout of the books and video production was done by Bill Norton.

Self-Government Works is an American History simulation where students build, maintain, and experiment with self-governance for the 21st century. It is designed to be used in any 8th-12th grade social studies classrooms. With the Supplement to the Student Workbook, the program can be done with as young as 5th graders.
